trip to Nepal is certainly incomplete if you have not beet
on a jungle safari. While the mountains of the north have
some of the highest and most wonderful peaks in the words,
the tropical jungles of the terai region preserve the best

Nepal is the country which has 16 national park, wildlife
reserves and conservation ares, occuping a 16% of its total
geographical area.jungle safari on elephant ride or jeep
riding are offered in the Royal chitwan National Park, Royal
Bardia National Park, Persa wildlife reserve and the royal
suklaphat wildlife reserve which all are located in the
southern of terai region.

Chitwan
National park is one of the popular tourist destination
to have a experience of the wildlife.It was declared a National
Park in 1973 and UNESCO designated it as a natural world
heritage site on 1984.The park has protection to 50 species
of mammals including the one horned rhinoceros, Bengal tiger,leopard,sloth
bear,wild elephants and wild bison. there are 526 species
of birds,126 species of fish,150 species of butterflies
and 49 species of reptiles in the park.
The park has spread over 932sq.km and located in the lowland
of the kingdom. the forest cover is predominantly Sal, interspersed
with tall grassland, small hills, ox-bow lakes and flood
plains.
The best time to visit to Chitwan is from October through
February, march april, may june are extermlty hot and July
to September are the moonson season although the visitors
are used to visited.

Chitwan -meaning the heart of the jungle is one of
the finest wildlife reserve in the Asia. Originally
set up as wild life conservation park, is enriched
by more than 400 spices of the birds, over 70 species
of wild animals inscluding endangered Royal Bangal
tiger, one horned rhino, Sloth Beers, Gharial and
many more .....

From the wildlife and eco-system point of view, this
park is not significantly different than Chitwan but,
this is least explored and not crowded, because of
it's distance from Kathmandu or from Pokhara. The
10 d ay's world class river rafting trip ends right
at the Bardiya park or one can take long drive from
Kathmandu or fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj to reach
in the park.

The Reserve covers 175 Sq.Kilo Meters. It was established
in 1996. Numerous water-holes and marshes make this
one of the finest birding areas in Nepal. The grasslands
support an important population of the Asiatic buffalo. |
